Directions
From the bus station;
Best option is to take a radio taxi from just outside the bus station. You pay a fixed fee at the counter. Will cost about 25 Reais to get you here. Walk straight past the counters inside the bus station as these work out more expensive.

Another option is to take the ŽRealŽ Bus from in front of the bus station. ItŽs cheaper but takes much longer. It costs 4 Reais, & the drivers speak English. Walk past the taxi rank just outside the station & wait for the bus at the side of the road opposite. They run every 15 minutes and will stop on the main beach road (avendida atlantica). Ask the driver to stop at the ŽCopacabana PalaceŽ hotel. Walk two blocks away from the beach on ŽRua Rodolfo DantasŽ onto ŽRua Barato RibeiraŽ. Take a left and then youŽll find us on the next street on the left (Rua Gal Azevedo Pimentel).
Alternatively, walk over to the other side of the station and walk across the road, past the taxis to the local bus station which is at the other side of the road. Catch any bus to copacabana, most of which run along Žrua barato ribeiroŽ. Look out for ŽArcoverdeŽ Metro station on your right. Take the next left, Rua Gal Azevedo Pimentel, the hostel is straight ahead.
From the Aiport
Again, the best option, particularly if youŽre in a group, would be to take a taxi. Depending on the time and the driver, it should cost between 50-70 Reais if you are lucky as it could cost a lot more as the majority donŽt think twice about trying to rip off gringos.

A cheaper option is the ŽRealŽ bus. Walk out of the arrivals lounge, take a right past the waiting taxis and look out for the aiport bus stop. At the time of writing this cost around 6 Reais. (See bus station info for instructions on where to get off the bus). However, be warned this takes a long time! Up to 3 times as long as a taxi.
An alternative is to take the express real bus to the domestic airport Žsantos dunmontŽ, around R$4. This only takes around half an hour. From this aiport its about a R$15 taxi fare to copacabana.
