
Cali, Colombia, actually named Santiago de Cali is the third largest city in Colombia, as well as the country's Salsa dancing capital. This beautiful and culturally rich destination is a great place for tourists to gain a deeper understanding of Colombian culture and history. When visiting the city make sure to head over to these great cultural centers and touristic spots.
1. La Plaza de Caycedo: The most important historical area in all of the city, this square marks not only the center of town, but is also home to El Edificio Otero, La Catedral and El Palacio de Justicia.
2. Cristo Rey: this religious monument, which sits on a hill overlooking the city is not only beautiful itself, but the area also offers the best views of the city.
3. San Antonio: Known as being the most traditional neighborhood in all of the city, this district was once the downtown. All of the charming neighborhood sits on a hill and at the peak is the stunning San Antonio Park.
4. Parque de Perro: Situated in the San Fernando district, this park is perhaps the most popular in all of Cali. Here you can enjoy an array of delicious restaurants and fun bars.
5. Cali Zoo: Holding a place as the fifth best zoo in Latin America, the zoo offers a nice variety of animals, as well as a prime location. It sits directly on the Cali River at the base of the mountains.
